The films that built set-jetting
Three worlds you can actually walk into.
Some places you visit for the view. London, Queenstown and Dubrovnik you visit for the story: the Hogwarts soundstage, the Middle-earth peaks, the walls of King’s Landing. These are the screen worlds fans cross oceans to stand inside.
Harry Potter
London
No location draws fans like the Wizarding World. The Warner Bros. Studio outside the city holds the real sets, the Great Hall, Diagon Alley, the Hogwarts Express, while a walking tour links the spots around London that became Gringotts, the Leaky Cauldron and Platform 9 3/4. It is the single most booked set-jetting day on earth, and the catalogue runs deepest here.

Lord of the Rings
Queenstown
Peter Jackson filmed Middle-earth in his own backyard, and the Southern Alps around Queenstown stood in for half of it. A guide drives you out to the exact valleys, riverbanks and mountain passes that became Isengard, the Pillars of the Kings and the road to Mordor, script and stills in hand. Few landscapes on screen are this easy to walk straight into.

Game of Thrones
Dubrovnik
The old walled city is King’s Landing, almost unedited. A local guide walks you the Red Keep steps, the Walk of Shame stairway, the harbour where Cersei’s fleet burned and the Lokrum island that played Qarth, matching each corner to the scene that made it famous. Westeros is a real place, and this is most of it.

London · Harry Potter
Walk onto the real Hogwarts set.
The Warner Bros. Studio outside London is where it was all actually filmed: the Great Hall laid for a feast, Diagon Alley, Dumbledore’s office, the Hogwarts Express on Platform 9 3/4. Back in the city, a walking tour links Gringotts, the Leaky Cauldron and the locations hiding in plain sight. The most booked screen day on the planet.
See the best London location tours →Inverness · Outlander
Step through the stones into the Highlands.
Outlander turned the glens around Inverness into Jamie and Claire’s Scotland. A day out reaches the standing-stone circles, the clan battlefield at Culloden, and the castles that play Lallybroch and Leoch on screen, usually with a Loch Ness cruise folded in. Real history runs right alongside the fiction the whole way.

Sail out to Scaramanga’s island.
The lone limestone spire in Phang Nga Bay has been James Bond Island since The Man with the Golden Gun, and the long-tail and speedboat tours out of Phuket still make it the headline stop. You sea-cave canoe through the karsts, swim off the beaches, and stand on the rock where 007 faced Scaramanga.

Where Daenerys kept her dragons.
Beneath Split, the cellars of Diocletian’s Palace played the vaults where Daenerys chained her dragons, while the streets above stood in for Meereen. A small-group walking tour matches each Roman corner to its scene and pairs the show with seventeen centuries of real history.

The colleges that became Hogwarts.
Long before the studio sets, the films borrowed Oxford’s real medieval halls.
